Peachy Keen Challenge 55

The challenge at Peachy Keen is to use a sketch provided by them. My mom is in rehab from her fall and her roommate is an elderly latino woman. She loves my son and so we try to bring her a card when we go to visit my mom. When I saw this "hola chica" stamp from Scrappy Moms, I knew this was perfect for Rosie! I also used my Peachy Keen Stamps, Everyday Faces.

Sketch

The challenge at My Creative Time is a Cricutless Challenge and to follow the sketch provided. I have never used a sketch so I hope I did it right! I checked out some other cards on various sites using a sketch but none ever looked exactly like the sketch so I just winged it! I am also entering this into the Pink By Design challenge for today it wont let me post on their site!! hmmm...
So I will also enter it into Fantabulous Cricuts Monday Challenge using red, white,and blue!

Sweet Treat!

I found this sparkle farkle paper at the Paper Niche by American Crafts. It is called Slammin' Strawberry and I love it! The colors are so pretty! I decided to make a tag out of it. I used the reverse side of the paper for the top, Simply Charmed for the ice cream cone, my fav PK stamps,chocolate twine and my white gel pen. I also added glossy accents on the stamped sentiment, Sweet Friend from Scrappy Mom's.
I am going to enter it in the How Sweet It Is Challenge #13 at My Craft Spot, at Scrapalicious where the challenge theme is Summer Cold Treats and at More Than Favors where the challenge is to make a tag!

Tacky Tuesday Challenge #7

Today is the start of another Tacky Tuesday Challenge on Facebook! Ruthie from September Ninth holds this monthly challenge(Ok, I LOVE September Ninth!)I am the guest designer this month, how cool is that?? This months challenge is to design a card with a "Sea Creature" can be any sea creature that you choose, from any Cricut cart or svg file and you must use the word "Sea" in your sentiment. I found the sentiment "Under the Sea" on one of my stamps and then added "Party" from another set! (I love that I tip I picked up!!) I used my Cricut to cut the fisbowl from the Create a Critter cartridge along with the sea life who are having a party! I used my divine swirls embossing folder,some red twine, and of course, some stickles!

This is the last card I made for the challenge at Inking it Up. The challenges were all for We R Grateful. It is a totally awesome cause-making cards for the soldiers to send home to their family and friends!

Whew! I did 6 cards tonight for the Inking it Up Challenge and I am beat! One more card to go and I can send them off! Operation We R Grateful! Challenge #1

Kassidy at Inking it up is having a challenge called Operation We R Grateful. We are to make cards for the troops to send home. I was out of town so I couldn't start until today! Missed out on some goodies given by Kassidy for playing along but really,the best goodie is to "give" to the troops. I have four done that I didn't do in order. But,I am doing this while doing laundry, unpacking, making lunches for tomorrow, getting dinner for Daddy's fathers day and now I am off to give doodie a bath. So, the others will come in a bit.

I love Scrappy Moms!

The Challenge over at Scrappy Mom Stamps is to use the Sweet Treats Cartridge.  I don't use this cart much but thought the firecracker would go great with the sentiment I got from Scappy Mom's Designer Choice stamp set.  I am not sure if I bragged, I mean mentioned, that I won 3 sets of stamps from Scrappy Mom's during their birthday celebration week!!   How sweet is that?? Thanks again Scrappy Moms, you rock!  They totally stamp awesome and the sentiments are great!  I embossed the card with my new stars Cuttlebug folder and put a little white ink across it and put a little red glitter on the star,added a star brad and BOOM! all done...

Happy Healing Mom!

My mom is in the hospital so this morning I whipped up this lil monkey card to give to her.  She was sooo happy! (ok, I had to quickly take the pic with my camera phone because I forgot to take a pic this morning and I had to give her the card!!lol) I used my new Scrappy Mom's stamps "Everyday Greetings".  They ink up so well, I love them!  I also used the new twine I got from The Twinery, their colors are amazing!  I used my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder, the monkey is from my Paisley Cartridge(added a little fluff of cotton for her belly and tail)and my Peachy Keen stamps! Officer Daddy!

Here is a little card I made for my friend at work. (her daughter will give it to daddy)  Her husband is our K9 (see the Shepard in the back?? He is probably nicer than the one he has-ouch!)so I thought these cute little die-cuts I got from K&Company would be great to use.  (Especially since the Challenge at Pink By Design is making something without using the Cricut!!)  Joann Fabrics is moving so they are havng a HUGE sale! Yea for me for stocking up!  I also used K&Company paper in the background and that little cutie hat brad is from the Eyelet Outlet!

Whew! It took me a while but I finally figured out how to do a side step card. Or what might resemble a side step card! lol  (It took awhile because I am sooo not good with measurements, my brain just does not compute them!! (I know, I know, its important but I just don't get them!! lol). Anyway, my son showed dad his card a bit earyl and he was pretty impressed so I guess I was successful!!  I love the paper I found at Michaels!!  I am not sure if you can make out the sentiment I typed up :You're "tool" cool!

I just realized I have not posted in a while!!  I have not been able to use my buddy, the cricut, for a few days, its been so busy at home and work!  BUT, I have had a great week of winning things! FIRST, I won SCAL 2 from SVG Cuts!! whoo hoo! Ok, I have no clue how to actually use SCAL 2 but I am going to give it a whirl!! THEN, I won Peachy Keen Stamps, Everyday Character faces from Emma at My Creative Time! I loved the look of the Peachy keen stamps so I totally cannot wait to use them.  I also want to order some of Emmas stamps because they look awesome. I haven't used one of my newer cartridges, Once Upon a Princess very much but wanted to make a little thank you card for one of my BFF's who is going to watch my son while we go to our oldest sons high school graduation!!   OMG !  The oldest is off to college!!!  Four yrs ago Kim convinced my husband who had just turned 50 that I, at 36 ,needed a baby and BAM we had Liam!  She was even in the delivery room with us! When I say she has seen everything, I mean she has seen EVERYTHING!!  LOL She truly is my BFF!!  So, thanks Kim for giving up your night to watch Doodie since he is not allowed in to the graduation.

Happy Mother's Day!

My husband told me I could get the Expression for Mother's day.  Ok, when he told me I could get the Expression I thought he meant the Pink one so I went to Michael's and got it.  When I got home, he said I thought you were getting the green one! AHHH he meant the E2!  OMG!! Oh well!  I had already opened it and got it all set for its big debut today and am not good at waiting for a new one so it's staying!! I hadn't even figured out my Cricut yet and now I am trying to figure out all the different settings on the Expression!!  I had a great day though with the fam and then I got to work on the MPS challenges uninterrupted for a few hours.  I hope you all enjoyed your day!

Mother's day!

This is the Mother's Day card I made for my mother in law! Appreciate the Teachers!

Teacher Appreciation Week is the first week of May.  I love this week!  I am not a teacher but I believe in thanking the teachers who take care of my son all day and teaching him things that I know I would just not be able to.   Each day of the week I give a little treat to his teacher.  The first day I baked bread and gave that and an apple to her. After all, breakfast is the most meal of the day!! lol   Tuesday I gave her a cup with a packet of instant Latte mix and put a tag on that says, "Thanks a Latte!" and included a straw.  Today it was a pudding cup that said, Thanks for "puddin" up with me!  Tomorrow I am giving her this little pack of watermelon gum with a treat topper that says, "You're one in a melon!"  Friday will be a bouquet of flowers.  Be sure to thank your teachers this week!  I am linking this up to http://www.craftjunkietoo.com/2011/05/teacher-appreciation-ideas-link-party.html

My sister is a P.E. Happy Anniversary Mr!!

Tomorrow is our 7 year wedding anniversary! whoo hoo!! I have a great husband who is an awesome father to our children.  We have one son together and I am "Schmom" to his two other children by his first marriage. We all get along great and I am very lucky to have them all. I got this paper from Bo Bunny(I won it, even better!!) I knew I had to use it for his card.  I love the phrases on it, totally sweet stuff...(love of my life, etc...)So, I didnt really want add much to it but I added the little unicorn because I just thought that it was really simple but beautiful.  Happy Anniversary, Mr!!

Ok, enough already! Paper Playtime Challenge #43-weather

I got the cutest little flower stamp from my friend at work and just love how it stamps! It almost looks drawn on, too cool! So, I  made this little "greetings" card using that stamp and another stamp she bought me that are like background stamps. They are made by Inkadinkado but had no name on it. I stamped the umbrella from the Paisley cartridge with the background stamps.  I found this adorable little snail brad from a scrapbook store near me, he is so stinking cute! Easter Egg Hunt

Today we had an Easter Egg Hunt at the house with about 10 of Liam's 4 yr old friends!  We hid about 140 eggs out in the backyard(4 kids didn't show so that meant more eggs for the ones that did!)!  We are on an acre and the eggs were scattered everywhere so it was really fun!  We snacked on PB&J on rainbow bread-how cool is that?, chocolate covered marshmallows with sprinkles, cupcakes made with my new baby cupcake maker(its a really cool little maker, it takes 4 minutes for 8 cupcakes!!),carrots, fruit and chips!  I wanted to make more decorations but got so busy I only got to add the little bunnies and chicks I made with the Cricut.  The kids had a blast!  They played with all the toys outside and had a field day with all of the toys inside too!  I was so busy I didn't take pictures of all the kids running like crazy for the eggs or playing in the yard-ahhh!!!!  Oh well, there is always next year since we do it every year! Each little one took home all their filled eggs(they had candy, rubber bandz, erasers etc inside)and a chocolate covered rice krispie bunny on a stick.(well, it was "supposed" to look like one anway!) I got that idea from those crafty ladies at Eighteen25. Now, I am off to relax now that all the little snot rockets are out of the house! lol

MOOOOO!

This week I was asked to make 12 baby shower invites for a friend at work.  She is having a boy and the shower is farm themed.  I love the cow and barn from Create a Critter!!  I used some twine for the barn doors, a bit of red stickles for the heart,my grass punch from Fiskars, Recollections paper,(I used blue paper behind yellow because they were doing primary colors) red plaid ribbon(which I love!) and a gold brad for the hinge.  I typed up the invites because the stamp I wanted to use just didn't look good!!  This was the first time I was asked to make something so I hope the guests like them!!!  I am linking this up to Craft Junkie Too's Linky Party. http://www.craftjunkietoo.com/2011/04/tgif-linky-party-41511-feature-me.html

Spring!

I made this card for my sister.  I used the bunny from Birthday Bash, a Fiskars grass punch, a bee brad with some bling trailing it and an Action Wobble.  If you have not seen or used an Action Wobble, you have to! They are a scream!  If you tap the bunny it goes boing! and wags back and forth-totally cool!  I got mine from Julie of Ready Set Stamp(she rocks!).  I just got a Cuttlebug and am loving it so I had to try it out on this project!
