Another Mystery Box! and say a few prayers, please...

I can't recall who recently asked me where I get my Mystery Boxes but this is for you! Todays Crafty Steal is a box of goodies for $44.99 that includes shipping. I just can't be trusted, I bought one today. I mean really, what was I thinking? But, I can't resist a good mystery and today I feel like pampering myself(I know, I know, whats so different from any other day!) But, mom fell and broke her wrist and has to have surgery today so I need a pick me up! Rhonda at Scrap Happens sent me a Sock Monkey mini that I got yesterday and it is sooo kickin! I totally love it and it just lifted me up. Somehow a little bling and paper can cheer me right up! Its not about me,its about mom I know. But, it helps me out because thinking about her pain and what she will go thru after just healing her femur from a break 2 mths ago, kills me. Poor thing, she is in so much pain. She is 80 yrs old and has always been a lil peanut but she just looks so frail. You would never know she had 10 of us! But, she is a fighter and will hopefully bounce back in no time. She has had a tough go of it as of late. Surgery is in 3 hours and though I am not a die hard catholic, I say my lil prayers each day and hope that he can help her thru this.

M.A.G. Challenge #41

M.A.G. Challenge By the Page has a challenge where the Sweet Treats Cart has to be used and the cut has to be from page 45. No other Cricut Cut can be used but any embellishments can be used. I just cleaned my craft area and I think I have enough paper for the next 5-10 years. I admit to being a paper addict. I just love it and whats worse is I hate to throw any of it away. I mean seriously, even my scrap drawers is over flowing. I just keep buying more and more.(oh god!my husband is right, I AM a hoarder!) I like to buy it but then don't want to use it because its too pretty! Wow, that doesn't even make sense. But tonight I took the first step. I actually used some paper from DCWV The Sweet Stack that I had been eyeballing (its just too pretty to cut so I have been hiding it in the drawer and was using it only once in a while!) to make this little crown tag. Its hard to see in the picture but its a brown, pink, and blue plaid patterned paper. The crown is pink & blue and I added some sparkle farkle to it. I love the Eyelet Outlet and had gotten this lil crown brad a while ago. I just attached it to the tulle bow(ooohhh love tulle too..) I think I will save this for my BFF's daughter who truly is a princess!

ahh love....

I started this mini "nightmare" about two months ago. I thought the idea of a mini album was so great I went out and bought two little albums. I stared at the first one for a few days and wound up giving it away as blog candy and then attempted this "Love" one. I worked forever on it and then stuffed it into a drawer. I would take it out, add to it, stuff it back in. Oh lord, why do the mini's hate me so?? I tried really, I did. I finally just added some fluff to the rings and called it a day. If you are a follower you will recall I sent Rhonda at Scrap Happens some mini's I got from a Maya Road Mystery box. I love them really I do, they just hate me. (Rhonda, you may be getting more, I ordered a "mystery box" from Cosmo Crickett-I never even used their products but I am a sucker for a mystery box and darn that Kassidy from Inking it Up for posting it on FB!) Anyway, I am attempting an easy square mini now.(I will not let them bring me down!!!)So far, so, so....lol
I am entering this into Whimsical Wednesdays challenge, inspiring words and linking it up at Patches of Pink.
Blogger was giving me problems tonight so I am off to bed!!

It's a Jungle out there!

I have had this little toilet paper roll mini I made for my friend just sitting here. I love this paper by DCWV Animal Crackers, its so stinking cute that I don't want to give it to her!! lol I am going to have to make something else with this paper. It's all sparkle farkle which I love and the colors are great. I covered some tags I had found in the closet(their probably 10 yrs old!) with patterned paper on one side and the other side with plain paper so she can journal on it. I found the cutie rub-on at Joannes and its so appropriate as the challenge at Love to Crop is,It's a Jungle Out there. I keep wanting to add more embellishments but there won't be room for pictures if I do that!

Rock On!

I just had to make something else with BugBites411 stamps! I thought the Challenge at Fantabulous Cricut was to use the Birthday Bash cart. It actually was to make a birthday themed project! Oh well, I still like this card!! I used the lil fox since he has a guitar and the sentiment, You Rock. I bought a few paper packs from Michaels the other day and the patterned paper is from a Me & My Big Ideas boy stack.(I really love that stack, and it only cost $7.00 whoo hoo!). I used a few brads and some twine from The Twinery. I just got the Kates ABC Cart that I won in a blog hop so I am off to see what I can come up with!!

Rave Reviews for BugBites new stamps!

I have been dying to use the new stamps I won on Barb's blog, Bugbites411! She just came out with her own stamp line and her first set is called, All Year Round. They ink great and she made some really terrific sentiments! I am so happy for her. I got to be in her first blog hop which she hosted this summer which also my first blog hop! I had a great time! She is amazingly talented(even before I won the stamps I thought that! lol) Please take the time and check out her talent, you will not be disappointed! You can buy her stamps on her site too! I love this lil witch from Mini Monsters!! Because the paper background was so fun I didn't want to use too many embellishments. I used the "Wicked Best Witches" stamp which just goes perfect and an action wobble which made my 4 yr old just giggle. He said, " Awww Mom, you should make a lot of those and give them out at Halloween!" I think I just might do that Liam, thanks buddy!
Thanks again Barb!!

CTO challenge #26

Here is a lil card I made for my niece, her birthday is on the 31st. I am always late but not this year-whoo hoo!
I am entering this into the Celebrate the Occasion challenge which is a Birthday easel card.

What a great Sunday!

Well, It was a a crazy weekend over here! We dropped off our oldest to college! AHHH! I hope he enjoys it as much as I did oh so many years ago! I was sad to see him go but so happy that he is going be experiencing some awesome things! I came home to many new followers thanks to Rhonda at Scrap Happens! She is one kicking chick! Her work on the mini albums is so totally awesome. I have literally thrown out like 3 minis, I am such a goof. I just can't the gist of the darn thing and so I mailed out three that I had bought from Olivias Place. I got a Maya Road mystery box and it was full of the mini albums! I kept a few to try to tackle but probably will wind up sending the suckers to Rhonda in a few weeks! Cracks me up! I am a compulsive crap, I mean "craf"t buyer and don't really know how to make squat but I have fun trying! I am always like, Oh Oh I can sooo do that and I can't! lol Rhonda also made me a Sock Monkey album! I LOVE monkeys and (sock monkeys are my favorite!) (I have a monkey chair and lamp in my front room-my husband almost fainted when I re-upholstered the chair! He said no to the monkey curtains!) When my now 4 yr old son was born, his room was monkeys! Ok, so go check out Scrap Happens already!!
oooh and more good news! I won some blog candy!! I won Kate's ABC cricut cartridge from BellaBugCreations from the altered composition book blog hop! Whoo Hoo!! Well, that just cheered me up to.
Son, what son??? (just kidding Mikey, your schmom still loves you) schmom=step mom

Composition book and good riddance!!

My new favorite project is to make altered composition books. I made like 5 of them this week for my daughter and her friend and my nieces. They are so fun and unlike the chipboard album, I haven't screwed one up yet! Seriously, I cannot do those mini albums. I am so aggravated! I got a Mystery Box that I ordered last week from Maya Road and they were in there. I am sending them to Rhonda at Scrap Happens. Have you ever seen her work, it is so beyond awesome. Check it out! I am sure she thinks I am a weird stalker since I sent her an email asking her if she would please take these darn things off my hands! I dont know her, just found her one day and am so impressed with what she does I know she will have better use for them than my trash can will!!
My 4 yr old son always asks me, "Mom,did you make me something today??" Usually, its a no! Last night though I made him a composition book. He is starting pre-k on Monday!! So, I decided to make him his own book to doodle in while we drive up to take the oldest to college!
I made it pretty simple for him. I found .25 book at Office Depot and used some paper from DCWV Grade School, red ribbon and some cuts from Simply Charmed. I got these great EK Success yesterday at Michaels for $4.99 perfect timing!! I am entering this into the Altered Composition Blog Hop. Abbey from 2ndhandstampsblog is having a challenge there.

Crayon Wreath

I made this crayon wreath for my son's teacher. He started a new daycare last week and his teacher will also be his pre-kindergarten teacher. So far he likes her! We made her one card already but thought it would be fun to give her this wreath too! I start four million projects at once so in between making halloween cards for a swap, altering a notebook, and making a b-day card for my niece, I made the wreath!(oh yea, I have a full time job, husband and 3 kids to take care of too!) I really need to focus more but whenever I see a cool idea I HAVE to start it. Its kinda like when I saw the Cricut on Youtube- I HAD to have it like right then and there!
I am entering this into the following Back to School Challenges: Scrapbookaholic by Abby challenge #11
Creative Cutter Room and My Sheri Crafts and Whimsical Wednesday.
Be sure to check out all these wonderful blogs that host the challenges, what talent!!

BBTB2 Challenge

Bitten By the Bug2 has a Pie cut challenge. I used the pie from Just Because Cards. I sprinkled some sugary glitter on the top of the pie (but you can't see it very well in the picture), used my Nana's Kitchen DCWV paper, Scrappy Mom stamps and some ribbon from my stash.

CTO challenge

I love SplitcoastStampers! They have great, easy to read instructions on how to make so many different cards. I saw a Criss Cross Card that I wanted to make. So, I made a card for my sons new teacher who after two days, declares, "she is great." He is 4 and has had to go to two different schools in 3 months and he is adjusting great! He loves meeting new kids and already has some friends. As a working mom and one who has total separation anxiety, it makes me feel good that he likes his new school. (ok, its daycare but saying "school" makes me feel like I am not totally abandoning him!)I am entering this into the Celebrate The Occasion Back to School challenge.
Yesterday I got great news. I won stamps from Bug Bites 411!! Barb just started her own stamp line and I won her new set! I am totally psyched. I started following Bug Bites 411 a few months ago and I was lucky enough to be included in Barbs first blog hop, Chillin & Grillin. It was awesome. Barb is so amazing! I mean seriously, she has the most incredible crafting skills. Her cards blow me away! I love that she always includes her recipe. Being a newbie, I she make that??" I can read it on her blog and learn how! I wish her lots of success and I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of her new stamps! I will make something as soon as they come in and give a little review on how they are. If they are anything like Barb, then they will be incredible! Congrats again!! !

I love this little cat coming out of the cake that I found on the Birthday Bash cart. The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms and I used twine and some glossy accents on the frosting.

The awesome Kassidy at Inking it Up is hosting the Old School Cartridges Blog Hop this Friday, August 5th and Saturday, August 6th. Be sure to come by and check out all the awesome projects! I finished my project this weekend and can't wait to see what the other ladies have made! It's going to be great!

The challenge at BBTB2 is to make a back to school project. I made a card from this great paper pack from DCWV, its called Grade School. It has awesome patterns! I made a little stick pin(for a great tutorial check out DoubleClick Connections-AKA a busybee )to put into a twine bow and the cuts are from Simply Charmed.

Later dude!

well, my son is off to this college this year and I really am going to miss him. He calls me "schmom" since I am his step mom but in my heart,he is not my "step" son, he is all mine! He is a great kid! He will only be 3 hours away so we can visit a lot. (especially since its near Disney, our fav place!). I made this card to him when he goes. I am entering this card into the Cricut 360 challenge-Transportation
